My comeback will be delayed more

I had my 6 month post Op appt yesterday, and I got to see my original surgeon. He really did save my life, and I feel like I owe him everything. He examined me and said it would be best if we wait until July/August. It actually wont be that bad, theres only 2 real bummers. One is I have to live with my belly open for 6 more months, and the other is I wont be able to bowl until after the surgery. So my original plans of starting up fall league wont happen.
My bday was over the weekend and my parent bought me a Wii! So Elena and I have been bowling on that non stop. Its close enough to the real thing that it will keep me in the bowlers mindset. I really suck at it though.
Another good thing is I can focus on my wife and my soon to be born son! We are naming him Lucas, and I cant wait to see him and hold him.

Sorry for the Long Delay, the last half of 2009 was hell

So you may have noticed that I haven't blogged in about 6 months. On July 28th I was almost killed in a scooter accident. I was in the hospital for 34 days total, where i had to learn how to walk again, get my strength back and everything. It has been really rough. Over the last 6 months I have lost almost 60 lbs. I also lost 6 feet of my small intestine, and about 6 inches of my colon due to the trauma.
So what does this mean to my bowling? I plan on making a comeback! I have one more surgery to deal with in this whole recovery process, an abdominal reconstruction surgery. Until I get that surgery, I wont be able to really bowl because right now I have a huge hole in my belly thats covered with a skin graft. My abdominal muscles are not connected, so I have a really weak core.
My plan is to totally redesign my swing and approach. From Feb. of 2009 I am almost 100lbs lighter, so I should be able to be more flexible, get lower, and take on less fatigue. If everything goes as planned, I may return to the lanes by June or July of this year.
Its been tough, but i think I am that much tougher from it.
